Your Band Already Pays to Practice
The question is whether what you're getting is worth it.

What you'd spend on a few months of rehearsal space covers a full year of Lutefish for the whole band.
Rehearsal space estimates based on national averages. Gas costs vary by member and location.

We'd tried everything. We were trading files back and forth, trying to practice that way, but it was terribly clunky. Then I found Lutefish on Google, and it just worked.

We've had more practice since April this year than the past 8 years together!
Lutefish has been a lifesaver when I'm pinched for time but need to get in a rehearsal or writing session.
Questions your band is probably asking.
Straight answers to the things that come up when a band is deciding together.
Short version: you keep playing. Your Lutefish subscription is your own, so one person pausing never switches anyone else off.
How it plays out depends on how your band signed up:
- Everyone bought their own device and subscription. A bandmate canceling changes nothing for the rest of you. They keep their Lutefish Stream device, keep a free account on the Musician Network, and can reactivate anytime they are ready to play again.
- You are on a group plan. The person who set it up manages the seats, so they can drop a seat, add one, or hand it to a new member whenever the lineup changes.
And here is the part worth remembering: your subscription is not tied to one band. As long as your plan is active, you can jam with your regular crew and with anyone else on Lutefish. So if your drummer takes a month off, you are not sitting idle. Jump into an Open Jam, play with someone new, or keep your side projects going until they are back.
Yes, and you should. Every Lutefish Stream device comes with two months of free subscription, so there's zero risk in testing it out. Have two members grab devices first, run a few sessions, and hear the difference for yourselves.
If the rest of the band isn't convinced after that, we offer a full refund within 60 days.
Not a band-specific discount, but every member saves 20% on the subscription when your band switches to the yearly plan. At $9.99/month per person, that's $7.99/month each — $95.88/year per musician instead of $119.88. A four-piece band saves about $96 a year together.
There is also a group discount on the device. More info
Lutefish needs a wired cable or fiber internet connection. No Wi-Fi, no 5G, no satellite, no DSL. That sounds strict, but it's the reason the latency stays 30-35ms and the audio stays at studio-quality 48kHz. Each device plugs directly into your router with the included Ethernet cable.
If you're not sure whether your connection qualifies, check with your internet provider or reach out to us. We'll help you figure it out before you buy.
Lutefish works best when everyone in the session is within roughly 500 miles of each other. That covers most practical scenarios: a guitarist in LA and a drummer in San Francisco, a bassist in Austin and a vocalist in Dallas. The closer you are, the tighter the latency.
If your band is spread across the country, your results may vary.
Send it back within 60 days for a full refund. No games, no restocking fee. We'd rather you try Lutefish and return it than never find out what your band sounds like playing together from home.
If something isn't working right, reach out to our team first. A lot of issues come down to a quick setup fix, and we'll walk you through it.
